Lots of students and teachers were Caught Being Kind last week! Congratulations to Mrs. Waters for being so kind, Mrs. Layne for always being there for me, Annabelle for helping a classmate with a pencil, Brooklyn for being kind and helpful, Ivan for knowing a teacher needed a pick me up, and Sawyer who let another student hold the door when they asked.

Fun for all ages at West Side on Friday with the Careers on Wheels event organized by Counelor, Orene Morgan. Students were able to see and learn about careers from yard service, lineman, police, and game and fish to name just a few. A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who gave up time to make this event happen!

West Side Elementary recently honored a special man, Mr. John Long. The Elementary EAST and Master Gardeners have worked very hard to create an outdoor classroom and courtyard that is dedicated to Mr. Long, who was our principal for twenty-two years. Family, students, and teachers both current and retired gathered for the celebration.
