Crews will be refinishing the basketball courts of Brady-Hipp Arena and Gathright Gym during the fall break. No one should be on the floors Friday through Monday. Normal activities can continue Tuesday.
PreK finished their unit on Community Helpers with a visit from our police and fire department! We so appreciate our community helpers for all they do for us!
The Shakespeare Show, put on my Theatre Squared out of Fayetteville, covered the 10 tragedies of Shakespeare for West Side's high school today, October 7. In addition to learning literature, culture and history, several students were also invited to participate in the final scene of the show.
The West Side Beta team attended the regional fall leadership conference in Benton, AR. All students qualified for nationals in their respective categories.

Mrs. Robin's 5th Grade Science Students recently did a lab to determine if mixing two or more substances would equal a new substance.
The Junior Girls Cross Country team competed today at Lamar with about 100 runners in the field. For West Side, Faith Olive finished 37th, Madison Stevens 41st, and Everleigh Palenske 42nd.
West Side's boys golf team captured 3rd place in the State Golf Match today, ending the season at Turkey Mountain Golf Course at Horseshoe Bend. As he did in most of the regular season matches, Mason Hart (center in photo) had the low score for the Eagles with an 85. Others scoring were (from left to right) Laiden Lindsey, 90; Jessy Nail ,108; and Keegan Towell 95. The team is coached by Luke Cornett.
On Thursday October 2, the West Side yearbook class toured Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas. Students spoke to the communications department head, learned about media platforms like newspapers and podcasts that they can start back home, and were given a personalized tour by West Side Alum Zack Birmingham.
Remember that Parent-Teacher Conferences are Thursday, Oct. 9th from 3-7 pm. School dismisses at 2 pm!

Congratulations to 6th grade for winning the Attendance Award for September with 96.51%!
The West Side eSports program posted a first on Wednesday, as a second Super Smash Bros. team took part in AAA-sanctioned play. In the first match, the team of Ian Harper, Tadeo Hernandez and Ramon Hernandez earned its first victory of the season in a 6-5 nail-biter over Greene County Tech. The brand new Smash Bros. team of Thomas Shue, Tucker Polley and Mason Parks built a 4-3 lead before eventually falling to Morrilton High School, 4-7. It was the first-ever individual victories for 7th graders Polley and Parks. West Side eSports will be in action again today (Thursday) in Mario Kart 8 play against Bentonville West.
The Heber Springs Rotary Club brought smiles to the faces of our WSE 2nd & 3rd graders last week. The ladies with the Rotary Club provided dictionaries to our 3rd graders and the book, Andy & Elmer's Apple Dumpling Adventure to our 2nd graders! Thank you so much! #UnlockingGreatness
