The West Side eSports Smash Bros. squad even found a way to win during their bye week! On Wednesday, the team of Ian Harper, Tadeo Hernandez and Ramon Hernandez edged out Izard County STEM, 3-2, in a contest that had been postponed mid-match on Oct. 8 due to IC's connectivity issues. On Wednesday, the resumed match came down to sudden death, but Ramon Hernandez was the hero, using his main character "Bowser" to pull off the win with a flying dropkick. All eSports teams are on a bye this week but will return to action on Tuesday.

Wednesday was a banner day for the West Side eSports teams! For the first time in program history, a West Side Smash Bros. B team was victorious. The newly-formed "Nuggie Munchers" - consisting of Tucker Polley, Mason Parks and Thomas Shue - pulled out a come-from-behind win over Greene County Tech, 3-2. Polley went 2-0 (with a 4-1 game record) and Shue gutted out the deciding win.
The Smash Bros. A Team was leading Izard County STEM 2-1 when connectivity issues at IC forced a reschedule to complete play. West Side's Tadeo Hernandez is currently one game victory away from securing the match win and will face IC STEM's Caleb Johnson when play resumes..
