Earlier in the year, the artwork of Chance Powell (4th Grade) and Havana Shahan (7th Grade) was selected for the Young Arkansas Artist Show at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. Now, their artwork is going on a traveling exhibit from that show, and will be on display at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in the Sturgis Building from August 2025 to August 2026. Congratulations to these up and coming. Art students!




The Eagle golf team, with a team score of 140, competed against three teams at Tannenbaum Golf Course today with Keegan Towell leading the team with a 44. His teammates were Jessy Nail, 47; Mason Hart, 49; and John McDermott, 50. Quitman edged Rise Bud 132 to 135 to win the match

The Lady Eagles golf team beat Quitman, 142 to 153, in a 9-hole match today at Tannenbaum Golf Course with Lainee Gentry taking medalist honors as the day’s top golfer, shooting a 42. Her teammates were Lilly Southerland, 48; Macy Gentry, 52; and Kately Cornett, 55.

Real-world lessons happening in the classroom! Students in Mrs. Stephanie’s banking class are learning how to write checks, keep a check register, and reconcile a bank statement.




Mrs. Teresa's K-2 Whole Group Enrichment classes learned about primary and secondary colors last week.

Congratulations to Makayla Keller, FFA Sentinel. She competed in the Junior Miss Cleburne County Fair Beauty Pageant and won runner-up Junior Miss and Agriculture Queen.

Good News - Haygen and Holden Smith are going to be in the Cleburne County Fair junior livestock auction with their pigs at 10 am on Saturday, Sept. 6th

Keegan Towell’s 96 led the Eagles in a match at Mountain Ranch Golf Course. Mason Hart shot 101, and John McDermott, Jessy Nail, and Laiden Lindsey each shot 110. Jessieville won the match.

The Lady Eagles picked up another golf victory over three other schools at Mountain Ranch Golf Course. As medalist in the match, Lainee Gentry led West Side shooting an 82. As a team, they defeated No. 2 Jessieville, 272 to 311. Macy Gentry shot a 90, Kately Cornett 100, and Lilly Southerland 101.

West Side Elementary will have a one-day book fair in conjunction with our Grandparents Day Celebration on Sept. 8th!
