
The Eagles came up short in the 1st Daredevil Classic taking a 19-7 loss against 2A McCrory. The Eagles fell after only being down 6-5 after 2 innings. Congratulations on Runner-up!





Spring Picture Day is tomorrow. Elementary spring photos will be taken, and you may pre-order online at www.wingard.inter-state.com. Use order code: 58408YB. Online orders must be placed by midnight prior to Picture Day. Spring sports photos, including baseball, softball and cheer team, will also be taken tomorrow. Kindergarten Cap & Gown photos will be taken tomorrow, as well. Kindergarten students will receive a proof of their photos after picture day, so no money is needed tomorrow.

West Side fourth grader, Alex Ott, recently won first place in two categories of the Cleburne County 4H County Ross Photography Contest. His entries in the B & W Living and Color Living are pictured below.




EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: KELSEY RAWLS
Mrs. Kelsey is one of our PreK teachers at West Side Elementary. She has been in the district for 3 years. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys spending time with her boys, reading, and watching Netflix.

Coach Shane Davis picked up his 200th baseball win on Friday night in the Daredevil Classic! Congratulations Coach Davis!


West Side Softball gained another conference win on Thursday against Shirley, 6-0! The baseball team fell to ICC 14-0.

Grades 3-6 will be taking the ACT Aspire standardized test April 12th-15th. Please make sure your child arrives on time, gets a good night sleep, and eats a good breakfast.


EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: AMY GENTRY
Mrs. Amy is the elementary PE and Computer Lab teacher. She has been a teacher at West Side for seventeen years. Amy enjoys watching her kids play sports and hunting in her free time.


West Side baseball and softball both got conference wins Tuesday. The boys played Norfork at home and came away with a varsity win of 11-1 and a jv win with 4-0! The girls brought home the win from Viola with a score of 9-2! Way to go Eagles!



Today's home baseball game against ICC has been rescheduled for tomorrow, and tomorrow's scheduled game vs. South Side Bee Branch has been canceled. Today's scheduled softball game vs. ICC will be rescheduled at a later date.

Continued progress on the new cafeteria and preschool building.





West Side Kindergarten Registration will be held on Friday, April 16th from 11:30-3:00 in the kindergarten classroom or on Wednesday, April 21st from 4:00-6:00 in the circle drive. Packets can be picked up ahead of time in the elementary office. Children must be five on or before August 1, 2021.


EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: PEYTON WARD Peyton is the K-6 music teacher at West Side and has been at the district for two years. She loves exploring and finding new places around the area with her husband. She is thankful to call such a beautiful area home!


Lady Eagles Softball fell 1-3 to Concord yesterday in conference play, while the Eagles Baseball won 14-2 in their match up against the pirates.





EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: MARK LEWIS
Mr. Lewis is the 7th-12th Grade Music teacher at West Side, and while this is his first year in our district, he has taught for a total of 36 years in his career. In his free time, Mark enjoys working on home projects, traveling, and training his German Shepherd.


On-campus, grade 7-10 students will take state-required exams Tuesday through Thursday. They should arrive at school well-rested, in time to eat a good breakfast, and remember to bring a charged Chromebook. Testing ends each day by late morning. Virtual students test 4/13-4/15


There is still time to give the gift of life and help with West Side scholarship money. The Arkansas Blood Institute drive ends at 2:30 pm.

Tammy has been a paraprofessional at the district for 19 years and has driven a bus for 26 1/2 years. When Tammy has free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and watching tv.
