High school students helped kick off Red Ribbon Week by greeting our elementary Eagles this morning!
West Side eSports Update - Oct. 21-23
It was an up-and-down week for the young West Side eSports program, but a week filled with plenty of success and growth.
Smash Bros. Team 1 (Ian Harper, Ramon Hernandez, Tadeo Hernandez) - Lost a back-and-forth match to undefeated Drew Central, 2-3. The match came down to the deciding final game. They will next face Lisa Academy West on Wednesday.
Smash Bros. Team 2 (Thomas Shue, Tucker Polley, Mason Parks) - Won their second-straight match with a come-from-behind win over Pocahontas, 3-2, on Wednesday. Shue went 2-0 in the victory. Next Wednesday, the “Nuggie Munchers” will play Valley View.
Mario Kart (Ramon Hernandez, Tadeo Hernandez, Tucker Polley, Brooklynn Stephenson) - Lost a competitive contest to Sloan-Hendrix. The “Teen Titans” will next face an opponent TBD on Thursday.
The junior high Cross Country teams ended their seasons at Quitman Wed 10/22. Faith Olive, Eveleigh Panenske, and Madison Stevens were the top 3 performers for the girls. In senior boys, Jaiden Bible had a great run of 23:00 on the 3-mile course, finishing 40th in Senior Boys.
