At Coopers Hawk Golf Course, the West Side Lady Eagles won today and the boys finished 2nd. Laney Gentry shot a 43 and tied for medalist honors.
Tomorrow's the day, First Day of School! Just a reminder that the school day begins at 7:50 and ends at 3:20. Students may not be dropped off before 7:25 in the mornings. Also, if there is a change to an elementary student's transportation home, you must notify the elementary office by 2:30!
We are excited: SCHOOL BEGINS TOMORROW at 7:50 am and ends at 3:20 pm. Students should arrive to campus no later than 7:45 am. Please be patient -- Day 1 is always busy! The attached map shows drop-off locations. The tennis court lot serves as the overflow line to get into the K-2 circle drive. Do not stop no the highway waiting to turn into the circle drive. Remember, NO CELL PHONE USE in school zones per state law. Let's have a great first day!

Attention Class of 2026

Parents and guardians of athletes, mandatory athletic physical for all Grade 7-12 athletes (spring and fall sports) will be Friday, Aug. 15, at Brady-Hipp Arena from 8 am to noon. Athletes who cannot have a physical that day must have one elsewhere before being allowed to practice and participate in the 2025-26 school year.

Megan Smith Strain, a West Side graduate who is now principal of Center Valley Elementary in Russellville, recently presented a session during the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators' 50th annual Summer Convention in Little Rock. The presentation, with co-presenter Courtney Gunter, a counselor at the school, was titled "Building a Tiered System of Behavioral Supports Through Relationships and Responsibilities."

During 7th Grade Orientation from 3:30 to 4:30 pm Thursday, August 7, parents and students will receive class schedules and locker combinations, and take a campus tour, in addition to meeting Dr. Jonathan Watson, new principal. Students new to the district should enroll as soon as possible to have a schedule ready.

A summer immunization clinic, by appointment or walk-in, is planned on Tue 7/29, by Cleburne County Health Unit! If your child has not had a vaccine since turning 4, 11, or 16, or will have these birthdays before 9/1/25, please contact their doctor or local health unit.
