UAMS is offering summer programs for students in grades K-12.
The programs focus on STEM and Health Care Professions. Applications are due April 9th.
West Side EAST students are participating in EASTCON 21 virtually this year. Team members are Vincent Dyer, Lee Wildman, Mason Hart,
Brooke Harper, Rae-Lyn Sanderson, Autumn Linn, Natalie Willis, and
Zach Hamilton.
West Side fans, enhanced security measures at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs, site of the basketball championship, suggest bringing only necessary items. Only one small, clear bag or purse is allowed with a maximum size of 14”x14”x6”. Everyone entering the arena is subject to be searched. The following items are prohibited: weapons and knives of any kind, firearms of any kind, backpacks, bags larger than 14”x14”x6”, more than one bag,fireworks or pyrotechnics of any kind, outside food or beverage, beach balls, flying discs and Frisbees, confetti, streamers, laser pointers, balloons, noise-making devices, audio or video recording (except cell phones and authorized media equipment), signs, flags, and banners, and any item deemed to be a potential safety or security threat.

Mrs. Ashley's Preschoolers had an exciting St. Patrick's Day! The leprechaun visited and left pots of gold coins, donuts, and lucky charms, they cheered on the Eagles headed to the state championship, and made green milkshakes! What a fun-filled day1
Sadie Davis received her trophy this week for being the runner-up in the Cleburne County Spelling Bee. Sadie is in Mrs. Kelli's 5th grade.

And they're off...the West Side Eagles Sr Boys basketball team is headed to Hot Springs to compete in the 1A State Championship Finals! Game time is 7 PM Thursday, March 8th.
Mrs. Teresa's 3rd-6th grade GT students recently got to meet Berani up close and personal through a virtual animal encounter with the Houston Zoo. Berani is an 8 year old Malayan tiger. The students are working on a Renew the Zoo unit and learning about various animals and what they need in order to live a happy life in zoos.

The West Side Eagles will play in the 1A State Basketball Championship game on Thursday in Hot Springs at the Bank OZK Arena at 7:00!! The following will happen tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17th:
💚🤍💚 Community Send Off at Noon! The West Side Eagles will load the bus and drive through campus before heading through the middle of town. They will be escorted by the Greers Ferry City Police.
🚌 Pep Bus will leave school at 3:15 and return around midnight.
Let’s cheer on our Eagles and support them as they drive through town!! Good Luck Eagles!! Win State!! 🦅🏀
If you cannot join us in Hot Springs for the 1A State basketball tournament, you can view the game on Arkansas PBS television.
If enough Grade 7-12 students sign up, West Side will take a pep bus to the Class 1A State Basketball Championship Game. However, students should not purchase tickets until the school determines if there is enough interest.
West Side plays Viola in the finals at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 18. The pep bus will leave at 3:15 p.m. and should return to campus about midnight.
Pep bus forms are available to students in the high school office. The form is due in the high school office by noon Wednesday, signed by student and parent.
Mrs. Robin's 6th grade recently started a unit on Human Impacts on the environment. As a part of the unit we learned about offshore drilling and how oil spills can happen. Students then conducted a STEM activity about cleaning up after oil spills occur. Their mission was to clean oil off of bird feathers and remove the oil from the water.
