My name is Audra Stewart, and I am extremely honored and excited to be serving the students, families, and teachers of West Side High School as the new building principal. I came to West Side Schools last year as the K-12 Instructional Facilitator. This has allowed me to get to know many of the students at the high school. I have truly enjoyed working closely with the high school staff and look forward to a year of great achievement!
I am a lifelong resident of Shirley. This will be my 29th year in education, and I continue to find a new love and passion for working with teachers and students. I am married to Todd Stewart, and we have two wonderful children, Ashley Mason and Will Stewart. I have 7 beautiful grandchildren -- Paige, Stormy, Ava and Holden Mason, Talyn McGlawn, Archer and Fielder Stewart. They are my whole world and keep me extremely busy! I love the great outdoors, especially hunting and trap shooting. My faith in God has led me to this place to serve the families in this community. I trust that He will bless the coming years of growing to greatness together!
This is just a reminder to be sure your student's shot record is up to date before the new school year begins. If your student recently turned 4, 11, or 16 years old or will be entering kindergarten or 7th grade, he/she will need vaccines. Please contact your doctor or local health unit to be sure. Cleburne County Health Unit (Heber Springs) 501-362-7581; Van Buren County Health Unit (Clinton) 501-745-2485. If you have had an immunization exemption in the past or would like to apply for one, that must also be completed before the school year starts. You can apply at https://www.healthy.arkansas.gov/programs-services/topics/immunizations.

We've had a great week at Pee Wee Basketball Camp. Our campers worked hard and learned a lot from our coaches. We look forward to watching these young Eagles as they grow and join our WSHS basketball teams in the future.

Basketball Camp Update: Due to the low number of 4th-6th graders signed up for camp, we are going to combine the groups. We will have one session Monday-Wednesday from 8:00 am - 10:00 am. We look forward to seeing everyone next week.
Ready to move to the next summer book? Swap it out at the West Side’s Little Library — located in the circle drive of the school — one of the thousands of the free public library with locations all over America. https://littlefreelibrary.org/ourmap/
