Sometime around 2:40 to 2:50 p.m., First Electric will be shutting off electrical service to repair a transformer. This will affect customers served by the Brownsville substation, which will be most of the West Side School District. Power will be about 5 minutes.

A big Thank You to Fairfield Lanes and Fairfield Bay Parks and Recreation for donating cards for free mini-golf and bowling to our school! These cards will be used for teacher, staff and student recognition! It's great to live in and near communities that support our school!

West Side High School is focusing on building a positive school culture this year. We want to recognize students who stand out for their kind, helpful and responsible actions and their positive attitudes. We started our Positive Office Referrals this week as part of this effort.
Gabby Hipp received a Positive Office Referral for being a great help to a young lady who was injured and having to use a walker. Shew carried her backpack for her from class to class with a smile!
Lexi Engle, a new student at West Side, received a Positive Office Referral for having a positive attitude towards others and encouraging them.
Gabriel Milton, another new student, also received a Positive Office Referral for showing respect to others by holding the door open for them each morning.
Great things are happening at WSHS! Be on the lookout for more to come each week.
West Side Picture Day is set for Thursday, Sept. 1. Order forms will be sent home soon. If you wish to order, please send your completed form and payment with your student on Picture Day. Senior sports banner photos will also be taken on that day. Senior athletes will need to have the uniform they wish to be photographed in. Senior make-up portraits and cap/gown pics will be taken at a later time.
Parents, please remember that changes to a student's afternoon transportation should be made no later than 2:30 p.m. This is necessary so that car and bus duty teachers can move students into the correct groups. If you have questions, please contact the office at (501) 825-7744.

Reggie Dabbs at West Side High School
High School students had the please of hearing Mr. Reggie Dabbs this morning. He is a phenomenal motivational speaker that talks to kids about respect, bullying, and making the best choices in your life. His message is delivered through humor, music, and sincerity. He will be returning to West Side School Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in Brady Hipp Arena. We hope you get the opportunity to attend!

Parents, does your child still need vaccinations? If so, the Cleburne County Health Department is offering a Vaccine Clinic on August 23rd from 9:30 am-6:00 pm
The West Side High School Golf teams played their second match this afternoon. The girls' team took 1st place and Lollie Parker was medalist. The boys' team placed 2nd. Congratulations to all!
