Community Blood drive at West Side 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow. The blood drive also supports scholarships for West Side seniors!

First Graders had fun making themselves in playdough last week in Mrs. Teresa's Enrichment class!



West Side has sponsorships available for the upcoming 17th annual West Side Athletic Golf Tournament: $100 hole sponsor (with other sponsors),
$200 solo hole sponsorship, and $300 banner. For the banner, please contact Shane Davis by Sept. 4.

West Side Picture Day is set for Thursday, Sept. 1. If you wish to order, please send your completed form and payment with your student on Picture Day. Senior sports banner photos will also be taken on that day. Senior athletes will need to have the uniform they wish to be photographed in. Senior make-up portraits and cap/gown pics will be taken at a later time.


On late-start Wednesday, if your child doesn't arrive at school during the normal start time, please do not drop off your child(dren) before 8:30. This will help the school district to monitor the drop-off and safety of our students.
Mr. Waters is sharing his audio/video knowledge with the 5th & 6th grade EAST students to help them get their morning broadcast set up.

Students loved getting back together with friends and making new friends during the first counseling classes of the new year.
Congratulations to Kinsley Gordan and Blake Kite for receiving the first two "Caught Being Kind" gifts of the year! Elementary students' names are put in for a drawing each Friday for being kind to others throughout the week. A lucky winner is chosen from each building to receive a prize on Friday! Congratulations to all of the students who were 'caught' the first week of school!

Late Start Wednesdays start tomorrow:
Bus routes will run at regular times for students who still need to come to school. Car riders can still be dropped off at 7:30 a.m. if needed. Breakfast will still be served in the cafeteria starting at 7:30 a.m. Students do not have to be at school until 8:45 a.m. The tardy bell will ring at 8:50 a.m. and class will begin.
High school students who arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. must check in to the office to find out where they need to go. Students arriving 8:30 - 8:45 a.m. will need to go to Gathright.
Sometime around 2:40 to 2:50 p.m., First Electric will be shutting off electrical service to repair a transformer. This will affect customers served by the Brownsville substation, which will be most of the West Side School District. Power will be about 5 minutes.

A big Thank You to Fairfield Lanes and Fairfield Bay Parks and Recreation for donating cards for free mini-golf and bowling to our school! These cards will be used for teacher, staff and student recognition! It's great to live in and near communities that support our school!


West Side High School would like to introduce you to Mrs. Rachel Seaton. She is our new high school secretary. She brings with her not only many years of experience, but also a heart and passion for teachers and students. Welcome, Mrs. Rachel!
"I have worked in the Arkansas Public School System for 33 years. I have been married to Timothy Seaton for 38 years. I have two children and four grandchildren who occupy most of my time. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, and crafting.
