School Resource Officer Donald Crispell and Coach Davis, Dean of Students, recently did a presentation for 6th-8th grade boys on the importance of watching what you say to others and treating others respectfully. Among some of the topics discussed were threats/terroristic threats, cyberbullying/bullying, the drawbacks of rumors, avoiding truancy, and legal implications of battery. Coach Davis said he wanted to remind these students they had 2 options when it comes to relationships among peers: Get along or stay away from each other. He stressed "see something, say something" so that students can be a part of the solution rather than a part the problem. Each presentation last 45 minutes. They plan to do more and involve other groups as the year moves on.
